Vacations

According to Rand McNally consumers are planning on vacations in 2011, despite the economy. They release a quarterly report showing trends, travel agent usages, destination preferences, budgets and types and lengths of trips.
They tell us traveler’s budgets are increasing…no surprise there. But the thing that amazes me is the amount they say each traveler spends on his or her trip. In the fourth quarter of 2010, $5,768 was spent by each person per trip. This takes into consideration honeymoons, destination weddings, etc.
The top 10 city destinations include Las Vegas, Orlando, Cancun, Miami and Los Angeles.
How about you? Are you traveling? Are you traveling to one of the cities listed? Is your spending in line with the average?
No need to answer…just something to think about.
