Monarch Butterflies in Pismo Beach

October through February brings Monarch Butterflies to the coastal areas of California, to escape colder temperatures as far away as Canada.
Pismo Beach was were we caught up with them this year. Warm days encouraged them to be out and about…flying right in front of our faces, landing on the ground right in front of our feet. A few were left hanging around in this tree.
During early mornings and late evenings they cluster, or hang together, in Eucalyptus Trees and Monterey Pines.
